A nurse practitioner's story of starting a clinic at night, raising two boys in the middle of it, and building a life on her own terms — one shift at a time.
"They thought they were just helping hang pictures. They were really watching their mama build something out of nothing."

On October 20th, 2015, my sons walked into an empty office beside me, each carrying a tool kit nearly as big as they were. We were there to hang pictures on the walls of the clinic I was building — after my shift had already ended. I wasn't waiting for the perfect time, the perfect funding, or anyone's permission. I had a job, two boys, a calling, and a few hours after work. That was enough to start.
You don't need a head start. You need a clock-out and the nerve to begin.
Built After Work is for the nurses, the late-shift dreamers, and every parent quietly building something real in the hours nobody sees.
How I opened a clinic in the hours after my shift ended — with no blueprint, no safety net, and no permission slip.
Doing it with my boys right beside me — and why I never hid the hard, unglamorous work from them.
Faith, family, and staying grounded while everything grows — from one clinic to a portfolio.
